NviroTek Laboratories
A multitude of laboratory tests are performed to assist with valuable decision making regarding the following:
Fertiliser testing is needed to ensure that the nutrients in them are present in sufficient quantity for their application. The analysis also ensures that the quality and content of the fertilizer meets the legal criteria for registration.
At NviroTek we test fertilisers for the following:
- Macronutrients
- Nitrogen
- Phosphorus
- Potassium (NPK)
Secondary elements:
- Magnesium (Mg)
- Calcium (Ca)
- Sulphur (S)
Trace amounts of:
- Boron (B)
- Copper (Cu)
- Iron (Fe)
- Molybdenum (Mo)
- Manganese (Mn)
- Zinc(Zn).
We also test raw materials used in the manufacturing of fertilsers, e.g. Ammonium Sulphate, Boric Acid, etc. It is a requirement in South Africa to test fertilisers for Potential Harmful elements (According to Table 12 - Act 36 for Registration) when registering a fertiliser. These elements include the following: Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, Zn, As, Se, Co and are included in the scope of analysis at NviroTek Laboratories.
The SG (specific gravity) is also necessary to be tested on liquid fertilisers.

Farmers have been using lime to improve the quality of their soils for generations. For this reason, they need to know the quality of the lime they are putting on their soil. Lime companies need to supply their clients with these analysis and they need to register their products to be able to sell it.
NviroTek offers the full analysis of lime necessary for registration purposes.
Our Basic Lime package includes |
Ca |
Mg |
CCE (HCI) |
Particle size (sieve test) |
Moisture |
Potential Harmful Elements |
(According to Table 12 - Act 36 for Registration), the product can be registered if it complies with the regulations stipulated.
CCE(HCl) is the most basic way of comparing the effectiveness of different agricultural limes. It compares the neutralizing value of a liming material with that of pure calcite (CaCO3).
